There are a number of walkthroughs available to help you get started with Persistate.  These are aimed variously at software developers, system administrators and end users.  Before using these, it is recommended that you read through the What is Persistate? and Using Persistate topics ti familiarise yourself with the general concepts used by Persistate.

For developers, the first walkthrough you should look at is Installing the Persistate Generator add-in for Visual Studio.  This will work with all versions from Visual Studio 2005 onwards.  Once you have Persistate running with Visual Studio, the Creating and running the Device Network demonstration walkthrough will take you to the point of having your first Persistate application up and running.

For system administrators and developers, the Installing and running the Persistate Server walkthrough takes you through setting up a Persistate Server and the basics of server administration using the Configurator application.  If you have created the demonstration application, then this also shows you how to install it on the server.

For everyone, including end users, the Installing and running the Persistate Viewer walkthrough takes you through installing the Persistate Viewer application on a workstation.  If you have created the demonstration application and installed it on a Persistate Server, then this also shows you how to run the application from the server using the viewer.
